The blade locks in place with a simple turn of the stainless collar; it also locks into the handle for safety as well. The handsome Beechwood handle is stained varnished for a most beautiful look. Included in this set is a sheath made of brown synthetic leather. The sheath can be closed with the button snap attached. on the back is a vertical belt loop steel carabiner. Therefore. it is important to try and keep your carbon steel blades away from moist or damp environments as much as possible. It is also a good idea to occasionally wipe the blade with a light oil. such as mineral oil from time to time. It is also a good idea to wipe the blade dry after each use.
