Description
Titebond II Dark Wood Glue is a dyed-version of Titebond II Wood Glue. It provides a strong initial tack and fast speed of set to reduce clamp time. It also develops a bond stronger than the wood itself, offers excellent sandability and is unaffected by finishes. Titebond Dark can help any woodworker achieve professional-looking results. It is ideal for wood, hardboard, particleboard, leather, cloth and most other porous materials. Titebond Dark is easy to use, non-toxic and cleans up with water.\r\nFeatures\r\n\r\nPasses ANSI Type II water-resistance\r\nDesigned for interior and exterior applications\r\nExcellent sandability\r\nUnaffected by finishes\r\nIdeal for radio frequency (R-F) gluing systems\r\nEasy cleanup with water\r\n\r\nApplication Guidelines\r\n\r\nApplication Temperature: Above 55°F.\r\nOpen Assembly Time: 5 minutes (70°F./50%RH)\r\nTotal Assembly Time: 10-15 minutes (70°F./50%RH)\r\nMinimum Required Spread: Approximately 6 mils or 250 square feet per gallon\r\nRequired Clamping Pressure: Enough to bring joints tightly together (generally, 100-150 psi for softwoods, 125-175 psi for medium woods and 175-250 psi for hardwoods)\r\nMethod of Application: Plastic bottles for fine applications; glue may also be spread with a roller spreader or brush.\r\nCleanup: Damp cloth while glue is wet. Scrape off and sand dried excess.\r\n\r\nPsychical Properties\r\n\r\nType: Cross-linking polyvinyl acetate\r\nCalculated VOC: 3.0 g/L\r\nState: Liquid\r\nWeight Per Gallon: 9.1 lbs.\r\nColor: Light brown\r\nDried Film: Brown\r\nFlashpoint: > 200°F.\r\nSolids: 48%\r\nFreeze/thaw Stability: Stable\r\nViscosity: 4,000 cps\r\npH: 3.0\r\nChalk Temperature: To assure a good bond, 55°F is the lowest recommended temperature of the glue, air and materials during application.\r\nStorage Life: 24 months in tightly closed containers at 75°F.\r\n\r\nLimitations\r\nTitebond II Dark Wood Glue is not for continuous submersion or for use below the waterline. Not for structural or load bearing applications. Do not use when temperature, glue or materials are below 55°F. Due to low pH, product may cause corrosion on metal surfaces, test product before using where rusting/corrosion may be of concern. Freezing may not affect the function of the product but may cause it to thicken. Agitation should restore product to original form. Because of variances in the surfaces of treated lumber, it is a good idea to test for adhesion.
